Spectrum Brands sells iconic car care line in large deal to shed automotive unit.

The Federal Trade Commission’s waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976 for a deal between Energizer Holdings and Spectrum Brands has been cleared allowing Energizer to acquire of Spectrum Brands' auto care business, which includes the iconic Armor All line of automobile waxes, polishes and cleaning products.   The deal with Energizer Holdings was reported at  $938 million in cash and $312 million in equity, according to The companies, which  expect to...
